Strong data infrastructure and connectivity in Minneapolis Saint Paul

Posted by GREATER MSP  |  Tuesday, April 18, 2017

The Greater MSP region enjoys abundant connectivity and offers the long-haul fiber infrastructure and network resiliency desired by most companies considering the region.

These findings are the result of 2016 research by NEF Fiber, which conducted a Latency Study showcasing performance of data infrastructure in the Greater Minneapolis-Saint Paul market. NEF Fiber also produced a Connectivity Report focused on data centers.

According to the research, the region can serve as home to nearly any organization across a wide variety of vertical markets that require data, voice or video services. The area has seen many network upgrades over the past few years that have kept pace with bandwidth demand and advancements in data transport services.

In addition, the rich fiber infrastructure in the region could support any type of data center. Electric costs 10 percent lower than the U.S. average; sales tax exemptions, and low risk of disaster are other the top reasons for data centers to locate in the region. Please go to this link to see our data centers brochure for more details.

Other highlights:
• Our speeds overall are faster than New York City to Washington, D.C., and Miami to Atlanta
• More than a dozen different telecommunications companies, providing a variety of high-bandwidth services
• Network upgrades that have kept pace with advancements in data transport services
