NYT, WSJ Feature $400 Million Downtown East

Posted by GREATER MSP on Wednesday, July 16, 2014

Bustling, prosperous urban centers are flourishing in the Greater MSP region.

The New York Times story, In Minneapolis, a Blueprint for a Bustling Downtown, featured the $400 million stadium-related development called Downtown East.

The Wall Street Journal Plots & Ploys column also took notice of the project that's expected to transform downtown Minneapolis

The five-block project includes plans for two 18-story office towers for Wells Fargo, a six-level parking ramp, about 24,000 square feet of retail space, 193 apartments and a four-acre urban park near the stadium’s northwest corner.

This complex will be skyway connected to the new Vikings stadium, home of the 2018 Super Bowl, as well as other downtown buildings and is sure to spark more development.

To hear the inside story of how the Downtown East project came together, please view this interview with Rick Collins of Ryan Companies, developer of the project.

Please see the Downtown East strategic vision document for more details.
