Medtech Business Development Mission
Join us to explore opportunities in two key markets for medtech products and services
GREATER MSP is leading a business development mission to Ireland and the UK with a focus on medical technology and related products and services. The mission will offer opportunities to interact with local businesses, government officials, and industry association representatives in three cities. The objective of the mission is to expand exports and offer opportunities for Minnesota businesses to find business partners.
Ireland has been the fastest growing economy in Europe for several years, and growth is projected to continue. This will create ongoing demand for U.S. products and services. According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, Ireland is an excellent test market for U.S. businesses exporting for the first time into Europe. Opportunities also exist for innovative U.S. companies to enter into collaborative agreements with Irish companies particularly in biotechnology, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals.
Why the United Kingdom?
The United Kingdom is the third-largest economy in the European Union, and tenth in the world. With a population of more than 64 million people, the UK is a major importer of U.S. goods and the largest market in the world for U.S. service exports. The National Health Service, providing 85% of the country’s healthcare, is in constant need of new products and services.
As English-speaking countries with highly educated and connected business people, Ireland and the United Kingdom are well positioned as gateways to the EU’s wider market of 740 million people.
